Polar Planet
We are Renewable Energy Heating Specialists with a combined experience of over 40 years within the construction industry. We are MCS Accredited which enables our customers to take advantage of any Government subsidies. This includes the Renewable Heat Incentive. We are Gas Safe registered which enables us to install Hybrid and Bivalent Heat Pump/Gas Boiler systems.

Renewable technologies will reduce your dependence on ever more expensive fossil fuels and will reduce your carbon footprint. Working in close conjunction with the M&E Contractor, Polar Planet was involved in the supply, installation and commissioning of Air Source Heat Pumps for a Special Educational Needs and Disability School in rural Kent.

As part of a prestigious 1m refurbishment, Polar Planet supplied two Thermia Atec Danfoss Air Source Heat Pumps to work in conjunction with an underfloor heating system for two new Pods; each containing two classrooms. The Heat Pumps supply both heating and domestic hot water to the new units in an "off-grid" area.
Services
Underfloor heating is the most modern and efficient way to get heat into your home.
It has become the heating system of choice for new build and property renovations.
Compared with traditional radiators, underfloor heating not only reduces your fuel bills, it also gives you complete design freedom and recovers valuable wall space.
Although we are used to seeing radiators in our properties, the clean lines of property without them is a breath of fresh air.
Apart from the aesthetic advantages of underfloor, it does have some practical advantages too.
The heart of a Solar PV system is the PV panel which is made up of a number of individual solar cells, typically 60 for a modern panel.
Panels are grouped together in strings to meet the space and power requirements.
Each panel, under ideal conditions, can produce between 250 to 330watts depending on type; so between 12 and 16 panels are required for a domestic installation of 4kW.
Smaller systems are possible where the size of roof is an issue, with a 5 panel system representing a practical minimum.
Solar Thermal systems use the heat from the sun to heat your hot water.
Collectors on the roof absorb heat from the sun and the system passes this absorbed heat to the water in your hot water cylinder.
Installation of a Solar Thermal system usually allows you to turn off the main source of heating during spring through to autumn.
Despite the lack of sunshine during the winter months, the efficiency of modern solar collectors allows the system to input some heat to the hot water cylinder, reducing the load on the boiler; thereby reducing fuel bills.
As its' name suggests, a Combined Heat and Power (CHP) plant is a system that uses a fuel to generate electricity and heat at the same time.
Combined Heat and Power modules (CHP modules) are compact energy generation units that provide a de-centralised (local) supply of heat and power with a consumer focus at an overall efficiency of around 90%.
Compared with Grid supplied electricity, this allows for saving in carbon foot print, greenhouse gas emissions and a significant decrease in costs.
Depending on the fuel comparison, this means the emission of up to 25% less nitrogen oxide (acid rain) and around 60% less carbon dioxide.
Polar Planet are able to offer a comprehensive service with a fully managed office; still maintaining competitive small company prices.
We offer annual servicing and maintenance agreements.
Modern condensing High Efficiency Gas Boilers are significantly more efficient than traditional boilers.
They extract more heat from each unit of gas supplied; reducing running costs by up to 30% and minimising your carbon footprint.
Boiler Replacement: Even if your boiler is not on its' last legs, it may well be economically worthwhile considering upgrading to a more efficient boiler.
