Navitas SHS Ltd was founded in 2007 by brothers, Tom and Edd Medlicott, when they observed a client demand for clear, honest, independent advice regarding installation of non-fossil fuel heating systems, whilst building and designing eco-homes with their respective Somerset-based building and architectural companies; Thomas & Thomas Building Contractors and Orme Architecture.

At Navitas we expect the sun to rise tomorrow, ground and air temperatures to remain relatively constant and, as a result, for trees and plants to carry on growing; therefore we consider solar thermal, heat pumps and Biomass to be renewable forms of heating and hot water.
Given that it takes over 300 million years to form fossil fuels, we do not consider them to be a form of renewable energy.

NAVITAS can help you receive a government subsidy for installing a renewable heating system.
The Domestic Scheme provides subsidy for 7 years according to the calculated heat use from the property's EPC, and can be applied for where a renewable heating system provides space and/or water heating to a single, domestic premises.
The Non-Domestic Scheme can be applied for where the renewable heating system is serving any part of a property which serves a non-domestic purpose.
Properties meeting these requirements can be holiday lets, offices or home offices, annexes, workshops or agricultural buildings, as well as commercial warehouses and business premises.
