Solar Age UK
Solar Age installs high temperature, low temperature (split & monobloc) air source heat pumps, ground source and water source heat pumps. If you need to apply for planning permission we can provide drawings, data sheets and design & access statements and help. Over the years we have added underfloor heating and hot water cylinders, air conditioning, PV battery storage and EV chargers to our range.

We notify "UK Power Networks" with a G/98 for installations under 3.68 kW's and installations over 3.68 kW's on a 16 Amp supply we can apply on your behalf for G/99 approval before we start work.
Services
A 4kWp domestic solar panel installation can generate approximately 3000 - 4600 kWh per year, it can save up to 60% on energy costs.
The amount of generated electricity depends on your location.
Solar PV panels use energy from the sun to create electricity: It requires only daylight, not direct sunlight.
PV arrays are now varied and range from Solar Tiles to the all black panels, flat roof and ground mounted systems.
The suppliers pass on the cost of the Feed-In Tariff to their electricity customers, essentially making traditional energy consumers pay for your self-generated electricity.
Air source heat pumps converts the outside air into heat energy for domestic and commercial uses.
Where it is not possible to drill a bore hole or dig trenches for ground source energy, or install any form of surface absorber on the property, the air/water heat pump is a good alternative.
Solar Age recommend Daikin Altherma which are MCS approved, we can install low temperature or high temperature systems.
We are a local Daikin installer based in Kent and we can help with all the aspects of the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI).
Ground source heat pumps take heat from the ground and convert it into energy.
Radiation from the sun heats the earth's surface.
The earth stores this heat to a constant temperature of around 8 - 12 degrees Centigrade even in winter time.
This converted energy can be used to heat buildings and supply hot water.
For every 1 unit of electricity used, 4 units of heat are produced.
Thus, 75% of usable energy arrives free the other 25% comes from the electricity used to power the heat pump.
The heat pump removes stored solar energy in the earth around a building, compresses it to a higher temperature and transfers it to the central heating system and hot water storage tank.
STHW also has many non-domestic applications.
Can Solar Thermal Water Heating systems work in the UK? Yes! Far more solar energy falls on the UK than most people realise.
Each year, every square metre of the British Isles receives 60% of the solar radiation found at the Equator.
Solar panels do not require direct sunshine to work, but use radiated light.
For example the South East enjoys the most sunshine in the UK.
It will operates in a similar way to the Feed-In Tariff (FIT) as both schemes offer a payment for every kilowatt hour (KW/h) of renewable energy a system produces.
Warm water underfloor heating (UFH) for new-build and retrofit projects.
We supply, design and install fully bespoke solution for your project requirements including the pipework, manifolds, room stats, pumps and valves.
With years of experience Solar Age can install a ground source or air source heat pump along with the underfloor heating as a complete package.
We also provide room by room heat loss calculations for the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) for our installations and help with the RHI application process.
